Texas Tech Red Raiders on TV: Football, Basketball and Baseball Channels

By

The Texas Tech TV channel for each game depends on which Big 12 partner picks it: ABC or ESPN's networks, FOX or FS1, or TNT Sports. Many smaller events stream on ESPN+. In Lubbock, the broadcast games are free on ABC 28 KAMC and FOX 34 KJTV. Baseball mostly streams on ESPN+, and every football game is on Double T 97.3 FM.

Following the Red Raiders means checking the schedule every week. The Big 12 splits its games among three media companies, and for most football games the network is named only six to 12 days ahead. This guide explains where each sport usually lands and which Lubbock channels carry the broadcast games. It also prices a full season, in Lubbock or from out of town.

How the Big 12 splits Tech's games

The Big 12's media deal has three partners: ESPN, FOX and, since 2025 for football, TNT Sports. Each takes its pick of games during the season, which is why Tech can be on a different network every week.

  • ESPN's side: ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN+.
  • FOX's side: FOX and FS1.
  • TNT Sports: TNT and truTV.

For football, the conference announces most networks and kickoff times six to 12 days before each game. Check Texas Tech Athletics or the Big 12 schedule early in the week.

Red Raiders football

Tech opened Big 12 play in 2026 against Houston on September 18, in prime time on FOX. Two late-season dates are set:

  • November 26: Tech hosts TCU on Thanksgiving night on ESPN.
  • December 4: the Big 12 Championship Game airs on ABC from AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

In Lubbock, a FOX game is on FOX 34 and an ABC game on ABC 28, both free over the air. ESPN, FS1 and TNT games need cable, streaming or IPTV, and ESPN+ games need an ESPN+ or ESPN Unlimited subscription. FOX 34 broadcasts on VHF 11, so an antenna that only handles UHF can miss it; our Lubbock channel numbers guide explains why.

Men's and women's basketball

Big 12 basketball is spread across FOX, ESPN and TNT networks, with some games on ESPN+.

The men's team, coached by Grant McCasland, and the women's team play at United Supermarkets Arena. As with football, check each week's listing, since the same team can be on FS1 one night and ESPN2 the next.

Baseball and the spring sports

Most Texas Tech baseball games stream on ESPN+. Home games at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park, like the March 2026 series against Kansas, were listed on ESPN+. Tech's 2026 Big 12 Tournament opener against BYU streamed there too.

A handful of conference games each season move to ESPN2. Softball follows a similar pattern, with ESPN+ for most games and a few featured on national networks.

The Lubbock newsrooms cover Tech year-round: NBC 11 KCBD and FOX 34 KJTV from Gray's studios, CBS 13 KLBK and ABC 28 KAMC from Nexstar's. Our Lubbock TV stations guide lists every channel, and the RabbitEars Lubbock market list shows KJTV on VHF 11 today. If FOX 34 drops out on your antenna, our guide to VHF antenna reception in Texas explains why.

On the radio

Double T 97.3 FM, KTTU-FM, is the flagship of the Texas Tech Sports Network, operated with Ramar Communications. It carries football, men's basketball and baseball, along with the coaches' shows, and affiliates across West Texas and eastern New Mexico pick up the games.

Radio is also the fallback when a game lands on a network you don't get. Dropping cable for the season? Our guide to leaving Optimum in Lubbock shows what a Tech fan keeps.

Watching from outside Lubbock

National games on ABC, FOX, ESPN, FS1 and TNT are available anywhere in the US. What you lose outside Lubbock is the local coverage: the KCBD, KLBK, KAMC and KJTV sports reports, pregame shows and Tech news.

IPTVZ's catalogue of October 16, 2026 lists all four Lubbock network stations by call sign. A Red Raider in Dallas, Houston or another state can keep watching Lubbock news. The same catalogue has ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FS1, TNT, truTV and ESPN+ event channels. Our IPTV in Lubbock guide has the details, and Panhandle fans can see Panhandle sports on TV.
