Leaving Spectrum in El Paso: What It Costs and What You Keep

By

Spectrum TV in El Paso starts at $40 a month for TV Lite and $100 for Stream TV Signature in the first year. The Spanish TV Latino plan is $25. The Broadcast TV Surcharge, about $21 to $26, comes on top. Keeping Spectrum internet and moving TV to IPTVZ costs $674.99 for the first year, Juárez channels included.

Spectrum is El Paso's cable company. For most homes here, "leaving cable" means "leaving Spectrum TV." El Paso has a few reasons to do it that other Texas cities don't. Half the channels many families watch, the Juárez stations, come free over the air. There's no NBA, NFL or MLB team in town to justify a sports tier. And bilingual households often pay twice, once for English and once for Spanish. Here is what Spectrum costs in El Paso in 2026 and what you keep if you go.

Leaving Spectrum in El Paso: Spectrum TV Lite $40, Stream TV Signature $100 and TV Latino $25 a month in the first year, plus a Broadcast TV Surcharge, against IPTVZ at $74.99 a year with Juárez channels

What Spectrum TV costs an El Paso home

An El Paso Spectrum TV bill starts at $25 or $40 and can pass $145 before a single fee. We took the numbers below from spectrum.com's general page on October 17, 2026. An offer tied to your street address may come out higher or lower.

PlanYear-one priceWhat it is
TV Lite$40 a month85+ channels in the Spectrum TV App
TV Latino$25 a monthSpanish-language plan, needs Spectrum Internet
Stream TV Latino Más$75 a monthBilingual lineup of more than 170 channels, bundled with ViX Premium and Paramount+ Essential
Stream TV Signature$100 a monthThe main English lineup plus streaming apps
Stream TV Pro$110 a monthSignature plus regional sports networks and ESPN Unlimited
Stream TV VIP$145 a monthPro plus sports, entertainment and STARZ extras

Then come the extras. Spectrum's Broadcast TV Surcharge for local stations runs about $21 to $26 a month in 2026: The Senior List shows $25.75. Each box adds a monthly fee, and taxes come last. After 12 months, the regular rate applies unless you lock or renegotiate. Our guide to how much cable costs a month explains each of those lines.

The two-language problem

Bilingual El Paso homes often pay for English and Spanish TV separately, and Spectrum's plans make that easy to do. TV Latino is cheap at $25, but it's Spanish only. Latino Más, $75, mixes the two languages but costs almost as much as Signature.

Neither one includes the Mexican stations El Paso watches most: Las Estrellas, Canal 5, Azteca Uno, Azteca 7 or Juárez's Canal 44. Those come over the air, free, from across the river.

Our finding: An El Paso household that pairs Signature with TV Latino pays $125 a month before the surcharge, $1,500 for the first year. The channels that matter most to many of those homes, the Juárez stations, aren't on either plan. IPTVZ puts English, US Spanish networks and a 37-channel Juárez section in one $74.99 year.

Our guide to Spanish and Mexican TV in El Paso lists every Spanish-language option, free and paid.

What El Paso doesn't need from cable

Two things that justify a bigger cable plan in Dallas or Houston matter much less in El Paso.

  • A regional sports tier. Stream TV Pro's main extra is regional sports networks. El Paso has no NBA, NFL or MLB team, so for most homes that extra $10 a month buys little. The Cowboys play on CBS 4 and FOX 14, which an antenna gets free.
  • Paying for local stations. Every El Paso network station broadcasts from the Franklin Mountains, inside the city. Most homes get them clearly with an antenna, so the $25.75 surcharge pays for something that's free on your roof.

UTEP football is a small exception. Six of its 2026 games stream on the Mountain West's own MW+ service, sold separately at $10.99 a month.

Year one, with and without Spectrum TV

With Signature and the surcharge, an El Paso home pays $2,109 for its first year of Spectrum internet and TV. Swap the TV for IPTVZ and the same twelve months cost $674.99, a difference of $1,434.01.

Bar chart of the first year of internet and TV in El Paso: Spectrum 500 Mbps internet plus Stream TV Signature and the surcharge $2,109, plus Signature and TV Latino $2,409, plus YouTube TV $1,595.88, and Spectrum internet plus IPTVZ $674.99

Every row uses the same internet: 500 Mbps from Spectrum, $50 a month in year one. We used $25.75 for the surcharge and left taxes out throughout. YouTube TV is $82.99 a month; see our YouTube TV price guide for its plans.

Test it on the Spectrum internet you have

Start a free 24-hour IPTVZ trial before you call Spectrum. Check KVIA, KTSM, Telemundo 48 and Las Estrellas on your own TV. No card needed.

Your channels after you cancel

KVIA, KTSM, KDBC and the rest stay on your screen after the Spectrum boxes go back. Pick whichever of these suits your house.

  • An antenna, $25 to $60 once. Pick one that handles VHF if you want PBS 13, and aim it at the Franklin Mountains. Our El Paso TV stations guide explains why FOX 14 comes in on NBC 9's signal.
  • YouTube TV or another live-TV app, after typing an El Paso ZIP into its channel finder to confirm the locals. Our El Paso channel numbers page lists every station to look for.
  • IPTVZ. All five El Paso network stations are in its lineup: KVIA, KDBC, KTSM, KFOX and KTDO. Our guide to IPTV in El Paso covers the setup.

Our panel catalogue of October 16, 2026 also lists FOX Deportes, ESPN Deportes, TUDN, Galavisión and NBC Universo. Those are the Spanish sports and entertainment networks El Paso viewers often get through Latino Más.

Keep Spectrum internet, or leave it too?

Most El Paso homes keep Spectrum internet and drop only the TV, but there are other options. IPTV needs about 15 Mbps per HD screen, so nearly any plan works.

  • AT&T Fiber serves many El Paso neighborhoods.
  • 5G home internet from T-Mobile or Verizon, if the signal at your address is strong.
  • Starlink for homes on the far edges of the county.

Which of these reaches your block is a lookup, not a guess: the FCC National Broadband Map lists every provider by address. Changing internet companies? Get the new line working before Spectrum's is switched off.

When Spectrum TV still makes sense

Spectrum TV is still a reasonable choice for some El Paso homes. Keep it if:

  • Your home can't get a clean antenna signal and your internet isn't steady enough for streaming.
  • You use the bundled apps, like Disney+ or ViX Premium, that the bigger plans include.
  • You want a technician who comes to the house and a single bill for everything.
  • You record a lot and rely on a cable DVR.

How to drop Spectrum TV

  1. Run the trial first, on the TVs you really use, during a Cowboys game or the evening news.
  2. Look up your account for a price lock or a promotion ending date.
  3. Call or chat with Spectrum and cancel only the TV service, keeping the internet.
  4. Return the receivers at a Spectrum store or by mail, and keep the receipt.
  5. Check the next bill for any leftover TV, surcharge or box charges.

Spectrum El Paso FAQ

How much is Spectrum TV in El Paso?
Expect $40 for TV Lite or $100 for Signature each month in year one, per spectrum.com in October 2026. The local-station surcharge adds roughly $21 to $26, and boxes and taxes follow.
Does Spectrum have a Spanish plan in El Paso?
Yes. TV Latino costs $25 a month in the first year with Spectrum Internet. Stream TV Latino Más, with 170+ English and Spanish channels, costs $75.
Does Spectrum carry the Juárez stations?
Spectrum's Spanish plans center on US Spanish networks. The Juárez stations, such as Las Estrellas on 2.1 and Canal 5 on 5.1, come free over the air in most of El Paso.
Can I keep Spectrum internet and cancel TV in El Paso?
Yes. Spectrum sells internet on its own, and its 500 Mbps tier runs $50 a month for year one. Ask only for TV to be removed, then bring the receivers back.
Will I lose KVIA or KTSM if I cancel Spectrum TV?
No. They broadcast free over the air from the Franklin Mountains, and IPTVZ and live-TV streaming services carry them too.
Why are people leaving Spectrum TV?
Mostly the bill. In El Paso, Signature plus the surcharge comes to about $126 a month before boxes and taxes, and the price rises after the first year. An antenna already gets the local and Juárez stations free.
Does Spectrum offer a senior discount?
Not for TV. On the internet side, low-income households can qualify for Spectrum Internet Assist from $15 a month, and SSI recipients aged 65 and up are among those eligible.
What's the cheapest TV in El Paso?
An antenna, which gets the El Paso and Juárez stations free. For cable channels too, IPTVZ costs $74.99 a year on one device.

The short version

  • Spectrum TV costs $40 to $145 a month in year one, plus the surcharge.
