Las Cruces TV Stations: Every Local Channel and Where It Comes From
Las Cruces gets its TV from the El Paso market: CBS 4, ABC 7, NBC 9 and FOX 14. Two stations are licensed in Las Cruces itself, PBS 22 KRWG and Telemundo 48 KTDO. Low-power repeaters bring the El Paso signals closer to town, and one of them carries NBC's KOB 4 from Albuquerque.
Las Cruces sits about 45 miles up I-10 from El Paso. That's close enough to share a TV market, and far enough to need help with the signals. The result is a channel list with a few surprises. There's an Albuquerque station on channel 4, New Mexico State's own PBS station on Tortugas Mountain, and newscasts that focus mostly on El Paso. Here is every station Las Cruces can watch and the best ways to get them.

Every Las Cruces TV station
Las Cruces viewers can pick up about a dozen stations, from El Paso, from Las Cruces itself and one from Albuquerque. The "signal" column shows where it comes from, since a repeater near town is often easier to receive than El Paso's mountain towers.

KRWG, Las Cruces's own PBS station
KRWG-TV, channel 22, is the PBS station of New Mexico State University, on the air since June 29, 1973. It's the only full-power TV station with its main transmitter near Las Cruces, on Tortugas Mountain east of town.
KRWG carries PBS on 22.1, the World Channel on 22.2 and PBS Kids around the clock on 22.3. It also runs a second transmitter on the Franklin Mountains for El Paso. Repeaters in Hatch, Hillsboro and other towns carry it across southern New Mexico. So Las Cruces has two PBS stations to choose from: KRWG 22 and El Paso's KCOS 13.
Telemundo 48 KTDO is also licensed to Las Cruces, but it broadcasts from the Franklin Mountains with the El Paso stations. It signed on in 1984 as an English-language station and has carried Telemundo since 1998.
How the El Paso channels reach Las Cruces
Three low-power repeaters rebroadcast El Paso and Albuquerque stations closer to Las Cruces. They exist because 45 miles and some terrain separate Las Cruces from the El Paso towers.
- KCWF-LD relays CBS 4 on 4.1, Roar on 4.2 and FOX 14 on 14.1.
- K19LZ-D, licensed to Las Cruces and Organ, relays ABC 7 and all of KVIA's subchannels, including The CW on 7.2.
- K22NM-D relays KOB, the NBC station in Albuquerque, with MeTV, Heroes & Icons, Catchy Comedy and more.

Our finding: NBC 9, PBS 13, Univision 26, Telemundo 48 and UniMás 65 have no listed repeater near Las Cruces. They come straight from the Franklin Mountains, about 40 miles away, so they're the first to drop out on a weak antenna. If NBC 9 comes in well, almost everything else will too.
Albuquerque's KOB on channel 4
KOB, Albuquerque's NBC station, reaches Las Cruces on a repeater and also uses channel 4, so many TVs show two 4.1s. One is El Paso's CBS 4, the other is Albuquerque's NBC 4.
For Las Cruces viewers, that's a small gift. KOB carries New Mexico news from Albuquerque and Santa Fe, which El Paso stations cover less. Its subchannels add free classic TV, from MeTV to Catchy Comedy. Our channel numbers guide shows both channel 4s side by side.
Antenna tips for Las Cruces
In Las Cruces, aim the antenna by what you want: south toward El Paso for most stations, or east toward Tortugas Mountain for KRWG. The repeaters sit closer, so a modest antenna usually picks them up.
- Pick a VHF and UHF antenna if you want PBS 13 KCOS from El Paso. Everything else, including KRWG, is on UHF.
- Aim south-southeast toward El Paso for NBC 9, Univision 26, Telemundo 48 and UniMás 65, the stations without a local repeater.
- Use an attic or roof antenna for the El Paso signals if you live on the far west or north side of town.
- Scan, adjust, scan again, then hide the duplicate 4.1 or 7.1 you don't need.
The FCC's DTV reception map lists the expected signal strength for your exact address.
NMSU Aggies and other local sports
New Mexico State Aggies football plays in Conference USA, with games on ESPN's networks, CBS Sports Network, The CW and ESPN+. In 2026, the September 26 Rio Grande Rivalry against New Mexico aired on CBS Sports Network. The October 28 home game against Jacksonville State is listed on ESPN2.
- Aggies games on The CW are free with an antenna on KVIA 7.2.
- ESPN+ games need ESPN Select, $13.99 a month, or ESPN Unlimited, $31.99.
- NFL Sundays run on Mountain Time: early games at 11 a.m. on CBS 4 or FOX 14.

Xfinity and the alternatives
Xfinity is the main cable company in Las Cruces, so most cord-cutting here starts with an Xfinity bill. Xfinity shows its TV package prices only for a street address, and fees for local channels and sports come on top. Our guide to how much cable costs a month explains those fees.
Without cable, you have three routes:
- An antenna, free after $25 to $60, for all the stations above.
- A live-TV streaming service such as YouTube TV at $82.99 a month. Check its ZIP lookup for your local stations.
- IPTVZ, $74.99 for 12 months on one device.
Our panel catalogue of October 16, 2026 lists Telemundo KTDO Las Cruces and the four El Paso network stations. Las Cruces's own PBS 22 KRWG and El Paso's PBS 13 KCOS are on the panel too. It also has NBC KOB 4, ABC KOAT 7 and CBS KRQE 13 from Albuquerque.
