Nacogdoches TV Channels: CBS 19, ABC 9, NBC, FOX and Where to Aim
Nacogdoches TV channels are CBS 19 KYTX, licensed to Nacogdoches, ABC 9 KTRE from Pollok, NBC 56 KETK and FOX 51 KFXK. FOX also reaches the south side on channel 30 from Lufkin. CBS 19's tower is 33 miles northwest and ABC 9's is 15 miles southwest, so an antenna here faces two ways.
CBS 19 is Nacogdoches's station on paper, even though its newsroom is in Tyler. Channel 19 has a bumpier history in this city than most people know. It goes back to a CBS station that lasted about eight months from 1969. This guide covers every channel Nacogdoches County gets, where the towers are, and what that means for an antenna.

Channel 19's three tries in Nacogdoches
Channel 19 in Nacogdoches has been a CBS station twice and an NBC satellite in between.
- 1969 to 1970, KAEC-TV. Fredonia Broadcasting put a CBS station on channel 19 that left the air after about eight months amid major technical problems. The owners sued equipment maker RCA and won damages three separate times.
- 1991, KLSB-TV. On September 1, 1991, NBC 56 KETK launched channel 19 as its Nacogdoches satellite. It had its own studios in the city, about 40 employees and separate evening newscasts, which ended in January 1994.
- 2000s, KYTX. Sold off from KETK, the station relaunched as CBS 19, East Texas's first in-market CBS affiliate in 13 years. Its transmitter moved further north, and its newsroom settled in Tyler.
KYTX even had a turn on network TV. In 2007, the short-lived FOX series "Anchorwoman" was set at the station, partly to promote its new newscasts. Nexstar has owned it since 2026, through its purchase of Tegna, alongside NBC 56.
Where to point an antenna
Aim northwest from Nacogdoches for CBS, NBC and FOX 51; ABC 9 sits 15 miles southwest.

CBS 19 and NBC 56 stand almost in a line, so one directional antenna pointed northwest covers both. NBC, at 50 miles, needs more height. ABC 9 is close and strong, and it often comes in from the side of a northwest-facing antenna. Every station here uses UHF, which keeps antenna shopping simple.
Pine trees are the other factor. A mast that clears the treeline usually does more for NBC 56 and FOX 51 than a bigger antenna. Check your address on the FCC's DTV reception map.
Which FOX signal to use
Nacogdoches can try two versions of FOX: 51.1 from Rusk County, 49 miles north-northwest, or 30.1 from the Lufkin side. Both carry the same programming and East Texas newscasts.
KFXL-LD on 30 is a low-power repeater, built for Lufkin. On the south side of Nacogdoches County it may be the easier catch, while the north side usually does better with FOX 51. A channel scan will find whichever reaches you, and you can keep both.

Watching without cable
Here the antenna is the cheap part; getting NBC 56 and FOX 51 to hold steady is what costs effort.
- An antenna, UHF only, $25 to $60, plus a mast if you're after NBC 56.
- Streaming, at a monthly price. YouTube TV is $82.99, and which locals it gives Nacogdoches depends on the ZIP you enter. Our ranking of the cheapest live TV with local channels compares it with the cheaper plans.
- IPTVZ, with a year on one device for $74.99 or 3 months for $29.99.
By name, the October 16, 2026 IPTVZ catalogue has KYTX, KETK and KFXK. For ABC it has KLTV from Tyler. KTRE isn't part of the lineup, so the ABC news you'd get is Tyler's version. For Stephen F. Austin students from other cities, the catalogue's local stations from across the US mean home news is a search away, as our local channels by state guide shows. Our IPTV in East Texas guide has the details.
