Texas Longhorns Football TV Channel: Every 2026 Game and How to Watch It

By

Texas Longhorns football games air on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network and SEC Network+ in 2026, and the TV channel most weeks is ABC. In Austin, ABC is KVUE 24, free with an antenna. So far this season, six of the eight Texas games with a network were on ABC. For the rest, ESPN Unlimited costs $31.99 a month, YouTube TV $82.99, and IPTVZ $29.99 for 3 months with ESPN, SEC Network and ABC 24 in the lineup.

Every fall, Austin rediscovers the same puzzle. You know Texas plays Saturday, you know roughly when, and then you lose ten minutes working out which app or channel it is on this week. Since joining the SEC in 2024, the Longhorns have a simple answer most weeks: ABC. This guide shows where every 2026 game airs, what each way of watching costs for a season, and the cheapest setup that covers them all.

The SEC usually names networks and kickoff times about a week or two before each game, so the blank rows fill in as the season goes. Two losses by three points apiece in October hurt, and Texas sits at 4-2 heading into a home night game against No. 7 Ole Miss. Whatever happens on the field, the TV part of the question has an easy answer.

Why so many Texas games are on ABC

Every SEC football game now belongs to ESPN, and ABC is ESPN's broadcast network. Since the 2024 season, ESPN holds the conference's rights alone, and it puts its biggest SEC games on ABC, often in the Saturday afternoon or Saturday night slots. Texas, as a big national draw, lands there most weeks.

That also explains a channel that disappeared. The Longhorn Network, the ESPN-run channel devoted to Texas, shut down when Texas joined the SEC in 2024, and its games moved to the regular ESPN and SEC channels. If your TV guide still lists it, the guide is older than the conference change.

Our finding: Counting the 2026 schedule game by game, six of the eight Texas games with a network so far are on ABC, including the Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M games. Only the Texas State opener was on ESPN, and only the UTSA game was a streaming-only SEC Network+ broadcast. For an Austin fan, that means an antenna pointed at KVUE covers most of the season by itself.

Watching the ABC games for free

In Austin, ABC is channel 24, KVUE, and it is one of the easiest stations in town to receive. KVUE broadcasts on UHF 33 from Buckman Mountain in the West Austin hills, so even a small indoor antenna aimed northwest usually picks it up. That puts six of the eight known 2026 games on your TV for the price of an antenna.

One tip: rescan before the first game, not at kickoff. A scan takes a couple of minutes, and every Austin channel list is a little different depending on where you live. Our Austin TV stations guide explains where the towers are, and why FOX 7 is the station that gives antennas trouble, not KVUE.

KVUE also carries games beyond football. Texas basketball and other sports occasionally land on ABC too, so the antenna keeps earning its keep after November.

The ESPN, SEC Network and SEC Network+ games

For the games that are not on ABC, you need a service that carries ESPN's cable channels or the ESPN app's top plan. These are the main ways in, with prices checked October 19, 2026:

OptionPriceTexas games it covers
ESPN Unlimited$31.99 a month or $319.99 a yearESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and SEC Network+ streams, plus ABC games in the ESPN app
ESPN Select$13.99 a month or $139.99 a yearStreaming-only games such as SEC Network+, but none of the live ESPN channels
YouTube TV$82.99 a monthABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and SEC Network in the base plan
Cable (Spectrum and others)From about $100 a month in year oneThe ESPN channels in most TV packages; check yours
IPTVZ$29.99 for 3 months, $74.99 for 12ABC 24, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ESPN+ event channels

ESPN Unlimited and Select prices rose on September 17, 2026, as TheWrap reported; YouTube TV's price is its regular rate from tv.youtube.com. One trap to avoid: ESPN Select sounds like the cheap way to get ESPN, but it does not include the live ESPN channels. It covers games like the UTSA one that stream only on SEC Network+, and that is about it for football.

What a full Longhorns season costs

The regular season runs from early September to the end of November, about three months. Here is what it costs to see every game in that window:

ESPN Unlimited, 3 months$95.97Every ESPN, SEC Network and SEC Network+ game
YouTube TV, 3 months$248.97ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, plus the rest of live TV

The 3-month IPTVZ plan lines up neatly with a football season: buy it in late August and it runs through the Texas A&M game. A bowl or College Football Playoff run in December airs on ESPN's channels too, and some playoff games have also been on TNT in recent seasons. So you may want a month more of whatever you choose. Our guide to IPTV in Austin covers the setup.

Watching the Longhorns outside Austin

ABC games air on every ABC station in the country, so Texas fans elsewhere use their own local ABC. In Texas, that is KSAT 12 in San Antonio, KTRK 13 in Houston and WFAA 8 in Dallas-Fort Worth. ESPN, ESPN2 and SEC Network are national cable channels, so a streaming or IPTV service carries them the same way in any state.

Moved away and want KVUE's own local coverage, the pregame shows and Austin news? On IPTVZ you can open ABC 24 Austin from anywhere with a good internet connection, which is handy for alumni who still want the Austin broadcast. Our Austin channel numbers page lists KVUE's subchannels as well.

Texas basketball, baseball and the rest

The other Longhorns teams follow the same SEC pattern. Men's and women's basketball play mostly on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and SEC Network, with some games on ABC. Baseball, softball and the Olympic sports lean heavily on SEC Network and SEC Network+ streams. ESPN Unlimited covers all of them in one subscription, and IPTVZ's ESPN networks and ESPN+ event channels carry most of the same games.

Living in Austin also means sharing a TV with other teams. Austin FC matches are all included with Apple TV in 2026, and the Spurs' local games stream on DAZN, which covers Central Texas. Our Austin TV guide lists where each team plays, and UT students can find the cheapest campus setups in our guide to TV for UT Austin students.
