Local Channels in Georgia: Every TV Market, Station and Way to Watch
Georgia's local channels come from six TV markets based in the state, plus Chattanooga, Jacksonville and Tallahassee across the borders. Each market has its own numbers, so CBS is 69 in Atlanta, 11 in Savannah and 13 in Macon. Below: the main channels in every market, the Atlanta CBS move, the stations antennas miss, and the cost of each option.
Atlanta viewers still look for CBS on 46, but it moved to 69 in August 2025. Smaller markets add their own traps. In Macon, "ABC 16" actually sits on 24.2, and Tallahassee's "Fox 49" sits on 40.2.

Georgia TV markets and their channels
Each Georgia TV market has its own ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX stations, and Nielsen calls each market a DMA, short for designated market area. The northwest corner around Dalton watches Chattanooga. Coastal Camden County watches Jacksonville, and Thomasville and Bainbridge watch Tallahassee. Our guide to local channels by state explains how markets work nationwide. Our Tennessee guide covers Chattanooga in full, and the Florida guide covers Jacksonville and Tallahassee.
We took the numbers below on November 2, 2026 from the broadcast records on RabbitEars. They show what each station sends to your TV, and we compared them with the list of Georgia TV stations.

| Market | Main Georgia cities | ABC | CBS | NBC | FOX |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atlanta | Atlanta, Marietta, Athens, Rome | 2 | 69 | 11 | 5 |
| Savannah | Savannah, Statesboro, Hinesville | 22 | 11 | 3 | 28 |
| Augusta | Augusta, Evans, Martinez | 6 | 12 | 26 | 54 |
| Macon | Macon, Warner Robins, Milledgeville | 24.2 | 13 | 41 | 24 |
| Columbus | Columbus, Americus | 9 | 3 | 38 | 54 |
| Albany | Albany, Tifton, Cordele | 10.2 | 44 | 10 | 31 |
| Chattanooga | Dalton, Fort Oglethorpe | 9 | 12 | 3 | 9.2 |
| Jacksonville | St. Marys, Kingsland | 25 | 47 | 12 | 30 |
| Tallahassee-Thomasville | Thomasville, Bainbridge | 27 | 6 | 40 | 40.2 |
A subchannel is a second stream from the same station, numbered like 24.2. Georgia's smaller markets lean on them. Macon, for example, carries ABC on FOX 24's signal. Albany's ABC rides on NBC 10, and Chattanooga's FOX on ABC 9. Tallahassee's FOX still uses its old "Fox 49" name on NBC 40's signal.
Spanish-language TV is strongest in Atlanta, with Univision 34, Telemundo on 47.2 and Estrella TV on 26. Savannah, Augusta and Albany each have a low-power Telemundo station.
Why CBS is on 69 in Atlanta now
On August 16, 2025, CBS moved from channel 46 to channel 69 in Atlanta, ending a 31-year run on WANF. CBS put its programming on WUPA, a station it owns, and branded it "CBS Atlanta":
| Station | Before August 16, 2025 | Now |
|---|---|---|
| WUPA 69 | Independent, owned by CBS | CBS ("CBS Atlanta") |
| WANF 46 | CBS ("CBS46", later Atlanta News First) | Independent, with local news and Hawks games |
Many antennas and channel guides still point at 46 out of habit. If CBS seems missing, scan again and tune to 69. WUPA broadcasts on UHF 36, so most antennas that already get Atlanta stations will find it.
Why some Georgia channels won't come in
VHF, the band that covers channels 2 to 13, causes most antenna trouble in Georgia. Compact indoor antennas pick it up poorly. The number on your screen can also mislead, because a station's display number is often not its real broadcast channel:

| Market | Station on VHF | Shows as | Broadcasts on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Atlanta | WXIA (NBC) | 11 | VHF 10 |
| Augusta | WRDW (CBS) | 12 | VHF 12 |
| Macon | WMAZ (CBS) | 13 | VHF 13 |
| Columbus | WTVM (ABC) | 9 | VHF 11 |
| Albany | WALB (NBC, with ABC on 10.2) | 10 | VHF 10 |
| Chattanooga | WRCB (NBC), WTVC (ABC, with FOX on 9.2), WDEF (CBS) | 3, 9, 12 | VHF 13, 9, 8 |
| Jacksonville | WJXX (ABC), WTLV (NBC) | 25, 12 | VHF 10, 13 |
| Statewide | Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) | 8, 9, 14, 18, 20, 25, 28, 29 | VHF 4 to 9 |
Our finding: Georgia depends on VHF more than most states. All nine GPB transmitters broadcast on VHF, and four of them use the low channels 4 to 6, which need a large antenna. Chattanooga is the extreme case for the networks: NBC, ABC, FOX and CBS all ride on VHF 8, 9 and 13. In Atlanta, only NBC 11 does.
The fix is an antenna with VHF elements, mounted high and aimed using the FCC reception map. Low-VHF channels 4 to 6 need the longest elements of all, so a flat indoor antenna rarely finds GPB in Columbus, Albany or north Georgia. In Columbus, for example, a small window antenna often finds CBS 3 and NBC 38 but loses ABC 9.
Ways to watch local channels in Georgia
Xfinity is the largest cable company in metro Atlanta, and Spectrum and smaller providers serve other parts of Georgia. Cable bills add a broadcast TV fee on top of the plan. The main ways to get your locals compare like this:

| Option | What it costs | Georgia locals | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antenna | One-time purchase | Every station in range | VHF stations, and CBS on 69 in Atlanta |
| Cable (Xfinity, Spectrum and others) | Spectrum Stream TV Signature from $100 a month for the first year | All main locals | Fees on top of the plan price, as our monthly cable cost guide shows |
| Live-TV streaming | YouTube TV $82.99 a month; DIRECTV Entertainment $89.99 | The big-market stations in most ZIP codes | Smaller markets like Albany or Columbus may be incomplete |
| Free station apps | Free | Local news | News only |
| IPTVZ | From $29.99 for 3 months, $74.99 for 12 | Stations from Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Macon, Columbus and more | Needs a steady connection, about 15 Mbps per HD screen |
Prices from spectrum.com, YouTube TV and DIRECTV, checked October 17, 2026. Over 12 months, IPTVZ comes to about $6.25 a month. For more options, see the cheapest live TV with local channels, or compare the two approaches in IPTV vs cable.

Georgia local channels on IPTVZ
IPTVZ carries stations from every market serving Georgia. We matched each one in our panel catalogue of October 16, 2026 by call sign, so the table reflects the station's current network:
| Market | Confirmed on IPTVZ |
|---|---|
| Atlanta | ABC 2, FOX 5, NBC 11, CBS 69 (WUPA) |
| Savannah | NBC 3, CBS 11, ABC 22, FOX 28 |
| Augusta | ABC 6, CBS 12, NBC 26, FOX 54 |
| Macon | CBS 13, FOX 24, NBC 41 |
| Columbus | CBS 3, ABC 9, NBC 38, FOX 54 |
| Albany | NBC 10, FOX 31 |
| Chattanooga | NBC 3, ABC 9, FOX 9.2, CBS 12 |
| Jacksonville and Tallahassee | NBC 12, ABC 25, FOX 30, CBS 47 (Jacksonville); CBS 6, ABC 27, NBC 40, FOX 49 on 40.2 (Tallahassee) |
Our catalogue still lists WUPA under its old CW name, but the station now airs CBS, and so does its feed. Search the IPTVZ channel list for any station by name. Since IPTV runs over the internet, a Georgian who moves away can keep watching hometown news.
Georgia sports on TV in 2026-27
The end of FanDuel Sports Network sent the Hawks and the Braves to new TV homes:
- Hawks: 74 local games air free over the air on WANF and Gray's Peachtree Sports Network in 2026-27. Prime Video is the only streaming home for local games, and it needs a Prime membership.
- Braves: in 2026 the team moved local games to its own BravesVision network, with some games free on Gray stations, per BravesVision's history. Check the 2027 plan before Opening Day.
- Falcons: most Sunday afternoon games air on the local FOX or CBS station, so CBS on 69 matters in Atlanta.
- Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets: SEC and ACC games are spread across ABC, ESPN, SEC Network and ACC Network.
IPTVZ carries the Georgia network stations that air NFL games, plus ESPN and the national sports networks. Our guide to the cheapest way to watch the NFL prices a full season. New to streaming TV? The explainer on how IPTV works covers the basics.
Local channels in Georgia FAQ
- How many TV markets serve Georgia?
- Nine. Six are based in the state: Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Macon, Columbus and Albany. Parts of Georgia also watch Chattanooga, Jacksonville and Tallahassee-Thomasville.
- What channel is CBS in Atlanta?
- CBS is on channel 69, WUPA, branded "CBS Atlanta," since August 16, 2025. Channel 46 is now an independent station called Atlanta News First.
- What channel is ABC in Macon?
- ABC is on 24.2, a subchannel of FOX 24 (WGXA), even though the station calls itself "ABC 16."
- Why can't I get NBC 11 in Atlanta with an indoor antenna?
- WXIA shows as 11 but broadcasts on VHF 10, which small indoor antennas handle poorly. An antenna rated for VHF-high, placed as high as possible, usually fixes it after a rescan.
- Why is GPB so hard to receive?
- All nine Georgia Public Broadcasting transmitters use VHF, and several use low channels such as 4, 5 and 6. Those need a large outdoor antenna with long elements.
- Where can I watch Hawks games in 2026-27?
- Free over the air on WANF and Peachtree Sports Network, or streaming on Prime Video with a Prime membership.
- Do I need cable for local channels in Georgia?
- No. All the network stations broadcast free over the air, and they also come with streaming services and IPTV. The Braves are the part that may need a team stream or a specific provider.
